EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & CO-FOUNDER

Sarah McEnerney-Boal is the Executive Director and co-founder of There’s Just Something About Kansas City. With a background in media, marketing, and communications, Sarah has spent years helping people and organizations shape their voice and share their purpose. Now, alongside her husband, longtime KC sportscaster Frank Boal, she’s combining her love of storytelling with her passion for community—one conversation at a time.

Outside of There’s Just Something About Kansas City, Sarah is a proud mom to five incredible kids and two amazing grandbabies! She shares her home (and heart) with her husband, Frank, a lively crew of three cats and one dog, and spends her free time gardening, singing, and soaking up the small moments that make life meaningful!

HOST & CO-FOUNDER

Frank Boal serves as the heart and voice of There’s Just Something About Kansas City. A beloved Kansas City sportscaster for more than 40 years, he has covered some of Kansas City’s greatest sports moments, including three World Series appearances by the Kansas City Royals, Major-League All-Star games, Hall of Fame inductions, the Chiefs, Sporting KC, college athletics at the University of Missouri, the University of Kansas and Kansas State University, high school sports, and even the last NBA playoff appearance by the Kansas City Kings. As the host and co-founder of the podcast, Frank brings his signature warmth, curiosity, and humor to make guests feel at ease, drawing out personal moments and hidden gems that make Kansas City such a special place.  

When he’s not playing golf or hiking 14’ers, Frank is also a proud father of five and “Pap-Pap” to four awesome grandkids! Frank, Sarah, their dog Lucy, and their three cats live in Spring Hill, Kansas.

Ben Messner is the audio and production wizard behind the scenes of There’s Just Something About Kansas City. As Technical Director and founder of Marquee Creative, Ben brings a sharp ear and polished touch to every episode. From mixing and mastering to making sure every voice sounds crystal clear, he ensures the podcast is as professional as it is personal.

With years of experience in music, media production, and storytelling, Ben helps turn raw recordings into engaging, immersive episodes that sound as good as the stories feel. His technical artistry allows the magic of Kansas City’s voices to shine.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Kate Feder is the creative force behind the visual identity and digital presence of There’s Just Something About Kansas City. As Creative Director, she leads branding, social media, video, communications, and promotional content through her studio, Kate Mac Creative.

Kate blends bold design with thoughtful storytelling to amplify the podcast’s reach and connect with a wide and growing audience. From crafting the voice and messaging of the podcast to the outside world, to creating thoughtful, engaging content to expand its reach, Kate helps bring the heart of Kansas City to life for new & longtime listeners alike.

Outside of TJSAKC, Kate is a musician, a yoga instructor, a coffee shop & brewery regular, the wife of a teacher-by-weekday/rock-climber-by-weekend, and the mom of two wild & wonderful toddlers. With more than a decade of experience in nonprofit marketing & communications, she’s passionate about helping mission-driven organizations share their stories.
